Jean-Marc Monette has worked as a journeyman and foreman for many years. He has worked on residential, commercial and institutional construction projects. He then specialized in Heritage restoration while working on the restoration of the Parliament buildings in Ottawa. He has worked on various projects, such as: The Supreme Court of Canada, the Parliamentary Library, the wall that runs along Wellington street in front of the Parliament buildings, the Connaught Building and many others.

Subsequently, in order to share his knowledge and passion for the job, he became a teacher in a bricklaying and masonry program at a local community college. Always on the lookout for the latest building methods and standards, he has taught hundreds of students since 2001. Most recently, he is a subject matter expert and part-time teacher.
